March 2026 News update

LDES, as the UK representative of EOS Energy Enterprises, was proud to catalyse the first UK order for the EOS Z3 battery, with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between EOS and Frontier Power in April 2025.

In January 2026, EOS announced its new Indensity technology – which enables up to 4 times the energy density per area of other technologies. LDES is now working actively on its next phase of battery projects in the UK and is seeing significant opportunities from the Indensity product in “behind the meter” applications.

To recap, the MoU laid the basis for several significant developments:

  • a strategic joint venture for Frontier’s cap and floor portfolio of projects between Frontier Power and an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management. Frontier secured an initial £44 million investment  from Cerberus (October 2025).

  • Frontier then placed its first order for 228MWh of the Eos battery, being the first order under the MoU.

  • the JV intends to deliver at least 16 projects, representing over 20GWh of capacity across the UK. These will be developed under the UK Government’s Cap and Floor scheme.

  • All of Frontier’s applications have successfully passed the eligibility phase of the Cap & Floor scheme.
